A long time ago, when I was a child, I used to buy an encyclopaedic magazine about dogs, written by Fiorenzo Fiorone. There I saw a picture of a “Dogue de Bordeaux” for the first time, and I thought it was very impressive. The years passed and I started seeing Dogue de Bordeaux at the competition courts. Unfortunately they were very different from the ones I had seen in the magazine. They looked like big boxers without any type or volume.
In 1998 we acquired our first two females: one of them with a black mask, the other with a red mask. Both had a great character, they were very affectionate, although they were not exactly the type I had been looking for. So in 1999 we decided to go to Europe, and it was there where we found Randy and Karin Leedeman from the breeding place Dogue du Nord, whom I am very thankful with, because I received from them a beautiful puppy named Phoenix Dogue du Nord (also known as “Pimp”).
In 2000, at the winter international circuit, “Pimp”, who was only 15 months old, won the “Open Class” and the “Best Young Dog” awards under the judgement of the specialist judge and honorarium president from La Societé des amateurs de Dogues Bordeaux, professor Raymond Triquet. In december of the same year we travelled to Holland to acquire a great female called Obibio, from the prestigious breeders La Maison de Hollande, property of our great friends Gerald and Sheryl Van’t Hul.
In 2001 we travelled to Porto, Portugal, to watch the world competition and to visit different breeders which dominated this job, where we have great friends who have gone with us to lots of expositions.
In 2002, we attended the world competition in Amsterdam and we acquired a male puppy that finally became a great stud, called Toscano de la Maison de Hollande, which our good friend Noe Bautista owns actually.
In 2004 we travelled to Ham city, at the North of France, to watch the National Exposition of French Breeding, where we could observe great specimens from the most well known breeders of the world.
In 2005 we acquired besides Marco Márquez, owner of Del Marquez breeding, a very promising puppy named Emperador Van de Paterhoek, son of a great sire named Emberez Apollo, owned by Bart de Croo, from the breeding house Van de Paterhoek.
And at the last moment, our friend Wayne Stainforth from La Maison de Leeu, Southafrica, sent us an excellent female puppy called Tandi.
With the addition of this puppy we will mantain the excellence in breeding that has always been part of us.
